30 Days To Awesome

Day 2 – Hubpage Challenge

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:53 am

Awesome! I’m already profitable, albeit not much. So far in Adsense, I’ve had 3 clicks and made $0.58 — not bad! All I need to do to hit my weekly $25 goal is multiply that by 43 times :)

Yesterday, I produced three new hubs. While writing one, I realized that my keyword research method had a fatal flaw–I was searching for ‘broad’ phrases and not ‘exact’ phrases. This means that I thought the keyword ‘australian for sale’ was extremely profitable (and I wrote a hub about it!) but I later realized that the profitable keywords are things like ‘australian shepherd puppies for sale’, not ‘australian for sale.’ So I cut my losses and redid my research (which is suddenly about 10x more difficult).

That’s okay though, I’m still finding plenty of topics to write about, so don’t feel too bad. My first 12 hubs seemed like it was too easy to make money, and now I realize it will be a tiny bit of a challenge.

Anyway, I have just 28 hubs to go in the next seven days (by the end of 6/July). That’s 4 per day! Today I’ll go ahead and write 4. I have two other major projects (outside of this challenge) that I need to complete as well, so l’d better get started…

Official Start of 30 Day Challenge – Hubpages Adsense Revenue

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 12:22 pm

Good morning sportsracers,

As of today, I’m beginning my official first 30 day challenge. I am beginning a 30 day Hubpage experiment—similar to what what done on The Keyword Academy.

Here is what happens: I make 100 hubpages based on keyword research—I only target keywords that people are searching for on google but cannot find good results. Using link building techniques, I try to create pages that can hit #1 on google, raking in adsense revenue at the same time.

Here is the results of their first experiment. In one week, they created 40 hubs and earned $56.20. I got a head start and already created nine hubs to get an idea for how this challenge will work. When I started, I had no idea how to produce good, quality content—now I understand a lot more. I also thought it was easy money when I started, but after research—well, it won’t be as easy as I thought.

Here are the goals for my challenge.

Hubpage 30 Day Challenge (July/2009)

Goal (Priority 1) – Create 100 Hubs in 30 days

This is the major goal—the MIT (most important task) that MUST be completed within 30 days. Obviously, this is the smallest part of my experiment, but it is the most important part—the certainly achievable, absolutely measurable goal.

This is my priority 1 goal for a few reasons:

  1. It matches the S.M.A.R.T. criteria for goals – This goal is certainly Specific (exactly 100 hubs), Measurable (I can keep track of how many written), Attainable (just 3/day, plus I’ll be outsourcing), Realistic (3/day!), and Timely (in 30 days!).
  2. It is my first goal, and it is based on work I do, not factors outside of my control (like my earnings goals).

Goal (Priority 2) – Make $350 from Adsense

According to The Keyword Academy final results, they earned $475.26. I don’t know if I can hit that number, because Court from TKA had 5 years of previous experience—so I’m setting a reach goal.

My Plan:

Here is my plan for the experiment

  1. 40 hubs by 6/July ($25 dollars)
  2. 70 hubs by 13/July ($75 dollars)
  3. 100 hubs by 20/July ($150)
  4. 31/July ($350)

I already have nine hubs. Thus, I need 31 hubs in 7 days to meet my 1st goal. That is about 5 per day. I have a couple other projects to finish, so I will do just three today, getting me to 12.

Okay, enough talking. Let’s get it on!

Day 1 – My first few hubs

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:00 pm

So on this blog, I’m going to be sharing the hubs and the markets I’ve been creating. I’ve been trying to make tons of money like what they did on The Keyword Academy.

My first few hubs are about tortoise sales, exotic animals, iguana cages, pets snakes. Hopefully I’ll be able to drive lots of traffic and become a profitable adsense publisher!

I’m learning tons about the adsense marketing world—there is a lot of money to be made and I can see how to do it. I’ve learned about SEOT, SEOC, SEOV, CTR, CPC, and PPC recently. I just learned, for example, that when a click is made, the adsense person gets about 25% of the CPC—I had thought it was 100%. Thus, PPC ~= CPC*.25

So far I haven’t gotten a lot of traffic, and I’ve made 0 dollars on adsense. We’ll see how it continues!

Hello world!
